About me:

My Foundations

I trained through the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace in south west London. Graduating in 2021, my Hand Embroidery B.A (Hons) majored on traditional and contemporary embroidery styles and techniques. However, my passion is the wedding garment industry, with a particular love for adding small, beautiful details to create sentimental, contemporary and unique memorabilia.

Style

My personal embroidery style is heavily influenced by Art Deco and vintage theme works, using expressive lines and mediums, sourcing inspiration from the fabrics and materials that I use. I also enjoy recreating beautiful elements of nature through my hand embroidery, referencing their simple, natural colours and fine details. Growing up in a small country town, historic architecture has also influenced my creations. The end in mind: I want to enhance the vision and purpose of the garment for the wearer/occasion.

Why Kate?

Embroidery has been a love and passion of mine since a young child, exploring the wonder of my Grandmother’s craft and hobby shop. So, in a sense, I’ve already had 18-years experience with needles and threads. I try to give each of my projects and designs a sense of purpose and significance - particularly important for wedding dresses, wedding veils, bridesmaid’s dresses, groom’s wedding suits.

My Work

My commission are always bespoke for each client, ensuring that each design stitches a unique story into the garment that marks a key life event.

Experience

I worked as a freelance hand embroider for Helen Martin Veils, Norwich, where I collaborate on new designs whilst making and adapting original veils for each bride. This work has given me years of experience within the wedding industry that I can’t wait to delver further into. Here my embroidery has been sent all over the country to designers and couture houses such as Susan Neville. Whilst working with the amazing team at Helen Martin and teaming with Hayze Bridal to add and design monograms. Through K.Madelynne we have paired with bridal shops all over the country like Perla Nova, Adella, Glamorous Gowns, Laura Vere and so many more.
